As a Chicago lifestyle newborn photographer, you know what makes my heart flutter? NEUTRALS! I know it sounds super boring, but monochromatic imagery when documenting a newborn baby makes me so happy. If that mix of colors happens to be whites – even better! I know it sounds lame and dull, but Chicago lifestyle newborn photos are meant to showcase the new bundle of love. I think that works best when a neutral palette is the blank canvas. Sometimes, when I’m in need of a refresh for my bedroom, I visit some interior decorating spaces to get ideas on how to make neutral spaces more interesting with textures and depth. This is a good one – http://www.hgtv.com/design/topics/neutral-bedrooms. Oh, and remember this cute family Chicago Family Session, this momma has some mad design talent and designed a gorgeous neutral bedroom in their home.
This stunning family happens to be related to me. I married into a ridiculously good looking family, and the mom here is my husband’s sister. My nephew has all of the cards stacked in his favor! We held the lifestyle session in my Mother-In-Law’s downtown condo, which has floor to ceiling windows and great space. The day was bright and sunny, which meant for some improvising. We hung a sheet over the windows to diffuse the harsh light. It also added privacy from the window washers who happened to be working while we were there!
It was hard to choose what to share when putting together this post. I really love so many photos from this session. It doesn’t hurt that the star of the session happens to be the most darling nephew an aunt could ask for. I think that the mother/son pictures might be my favorite. This isn’t uncommon – as a mom, I usually gravitate towards the love from the moms when picking favorites. But, these two are especially beautiful together! Enjoy.
