On October 6th, I flew down to Atlanta to be amongst my fellow winners of the NAPCP International Competition of 2017. I was fortunate enough this year to have one first place win in the family category and two third place wins in the toddler category. I can’t tell you how amazing it feels to see winning work, printed and hung in a gallery. I literally got goosebumps when I walked in to the gorgeous space. As artists, our craft is made to be displayed on paper, tangibly, not just seen on a computer screen. I was blown away by the amazing work celebrated in the industry. The rich, deep tones of the prints popped so beautifully against the gorgeous white walls in Park Studios.
It made no sense at all to fly down during the height of busy season for this event – but sometimes, you have to do stuff for yourself. It can be a bit isolating in this profession and it felt so amazing to be with kindred spirits and get away for a night. It really fed my soul and made me remember why I love this job so much.
Below are my images that won this year, and below that is a post from NAPCP about the exhibition. You will see some photos of me and a close up of my images on their walls!
