What is it about the wrinkly toes of a newborn baby? I cannot get enough of their sweet little grunts and stretches. How they squirm and sigh while they sleep so deeply. This little nut was a fun Chicago newborn lifestyle session. It’s fun going into the homes of (newly disrupted) families. I love witnessing their vulnerability as they delicately handle their much anticipated bundle of joy that has finally arrived. I love to see the place where these families will re-establish their new normal, and the charm on this Chicago home is something I won’t soon forget.
It’s always so fun to see how people have made a house their own. We all have walls and floors, but every house has details that make it unique. Special. This house was overflowing with character and charm, so taking these newborn photos in this setting was a real pleasure. The windows! Ohhh the windows. The light filtering in on this sweet new family made for a lovely finished product. Taking photos of a family in their home, in their element, brings a certain familiarity and relaxation to the photo session.
You know, when the family feels comfortable, as if they were at home. This family was no exception. And who wouldn’t love to take photos of that sweet, little newborn face?? They were so easy to photograph and it was a joy to be welcomed into their Chicago home to catch a glimpse of their precious first days as a new family.
Thank you, Kaiser family, for giving me the opportunity to shoot your Chicago newborn lifestyle session. I know you’ll look back on these photos fondly and you’ll hardly remember a time when he was so small. I look forward to watching him grow and change over the years! Best wishes to you and your sweet family.
