This family Chicago maternity session downtown was so much fun. It was cheerful and bright and I love how you can just feel the excitement and love in the images. Sometimes toddlers take awhile to warm up to me, and I totally understand that. I have an almost three year old who is always a wild card with strangers. Lucky for me, we started the session doing some airplanes and little Wyatt and I quickly became fast friends. He has the biggest eyes and such a sweet temperament. I have no doubt he will take being a big brother in-stride.
Lurie Garden, downtown Chicago is such a lovely location for a family session. During the summer months, the city is bumping with tourists, so weekday sessions are always preferred. I really love when urban meets nature. The sweeping buildings behind a gorgeous prairie of wildflowers is such an interesting spot. We lucked out with the weather and had a picture perfect (pun intended) evening. I also loved what the mom choose to wear for this session. The red pops perfectly and showcases what this session was really about – the excitement for baby #2! There are so many little nooks around Millennium Park that are gorgeous spots for a session. Here is a recent post I did a few months back highlighting some of the great locations around the Chicagoland area for a family session – Session Locations
Towards the end of the session it got quite warm, so we let little Wyatt jump in the wishing pool. He loved splashing around and getting his feet wet (so did mom – hello summer pregnancy problems!). I love the mischievous look in his face as he splashed around. Hopefully he’ll remember how much fun we had the next time I see this family when baby #2 is welcomed into the world! I can’t wait!
